Just reposting some links to fan remixer sites. Please post any more you find but do not post links to actual files. And if you do decide to leech, at least be polite leechers and sign guestbooks when you can.
Most of these links are in Japanese, but it shouldn't be too hard to figure out where the files are.

Morning Coffee Vol. 9 (fan remixers board)
Munemoni's Musume Remixes -- one of the best.
http://neuetanz.tripod.co.jp/
http://meadow.hp.infoseek.co.jp/
Connie
Ananda
Morning Underground -- creators of the classic Koko ni Iruzee Underground Remix and the amazing Goodbye Charmy song
http://akisyndrome.hp.infoseek.co.jp/remix...ixes/remix.html
http://sound.jp/brinco/
http://solution.zive.net/cannonball/ -- go to "worx", then remixes
http://page.freett.com/dingtriq/remixes/
http://shibuya.cool.ne.jp/tackrin/index.html
Evil Morning -- Incredible metal remixes
http://sound.jp/nishino/
Rockin Musume -- not quite as good as Evil Morning, but some pretty good rock remixes

I figured I have a fair amount of unnamed fanmixes that arent from those posted links, like a "Puffy-ish" Chu Natsu Party, a rockish medley of MM songs and some dudes singing in there (it sounds better than it seems), and you probably already got it the ayaya red tea CM jazz mix. I dont have them with me right now and my home has no net at the moment, I will put them up later on when I can.

Just wondering if anyone has got any other random mixes that are good.

I don't know where it came from, but the Ne~e Hawaiian Musume Mix Part 2 (by Yamachan?) is ON CRACK. A lot of it.

There's lots of good ones out there though. I likethe BE HAPPY cannonball mix (that comes out Mika Nakashima's ONE SURVIVE at the end  The TOP (M.M.M. remix) is awesome too. And of course the MM vs. LB mix \:D/

I can think of a few good ones off the top of my head that you might not find on those sites.
-MM v. Eminem - As For One Day vs. Lose Yourself (there was a more clever title than that... Lose yourself One Day?)
-Sonin - Curry Rice no Onna EE Jump Mix (Yuuki vocals added)
-A SWEET Euro remix of Happy Summer Wedding.

I don't remember where I got those now, possibly from uploader boards?

And yeah Jessi, the MMM (Matrix) remix of TOP is amazing. The original version sounds boring to me now in comparison!

Edit: Oh yeah, anyone know of any non-HP remix pages? The Munemoni/Akio site has a few Ayu/Namie remixes, but that's about it. I'd like to hear more, if they're out there. Or are MM fans just that much more prone to be remixers?

I'm planning a new site which is gonna have a ton of vocal tracks i've made recently (good quality!)
would any people be interested?
i've made a pretty much perfect vocal rip of Misia's new song "kokoro hitotsu" and a very decent one for SPEED's latest single, "be my love". more are on the way.

Bumping the thread with a couple of notes

This site has popped up with a couple of cool remixes, including a SWANK remix of Tak's (from B'z) version of "Ihoujin", using Kei's vocals from FS4 instead of the ZARD vocals.
Petitremix as noted above, can now be found here: http://sound.jp/petitremix/ and has a Last Night remix up.
Evil Morning has a nice 22sai no Watashi remix up that turns it into a classic power ballad
and Rockin Musume has an interesting Shabondama v Smells Like Teen Spirit remix up.

I would really love that, because i can't seem to get phase inversion to work properly... the vocal and instrumental track always seems to be in different speeds for me...

Anyone else have this problem? Or a way to solve it?

phase inversion works half the time. it really depends on the song. i can usually nail it on the first or 2nd try, but if its stubborn i just won't touch it. like when i was trying to do salt 5, that was almost impossible, i'd have to break the song up into pieces and do phaseinvert on all pieces, but thats too much work

honestly, i have never gotten an H!P track to work. I have only 1 single, which is "shabondama", and the original and intrumental tracks are very very different so they don't work at all. like siik said, you almost have to cut it up into chunks and phase invert from there, which of course is a pain in the ass.
however, i have found some mp3s to be very useful! yay www.jpmp3.com!

Ah, I was trying that song too! And Uwasa no Sexy Guy because i'm not fond of that mix... but that didn't work either... not the same speed :(

Thanks, now at least I know it's not my fault! :D

Oh i meant more of a acapella track... using the instrumental and the inverse phase normal track to make an acapella track.

If that's what you're talking about too, then I guess you linked me the wrong wav ;)

soundforge 5, but i don't see why it would make a big difference. as long as you can cut the two wavs at the same exact spot and then invert, it should be fine

The only HP single I have ripped vocals from is melon kinenbi's kousui. Everthing else is off by just enough to make it a pain to work with. It would then be easier just to run songs through EQ and add some effects.

If your computer can handle it, try ripping vocals on-the-fly. Play the original and inverted instrumental at the same time and pitch shift one until just the vocals come through. Make manual adjustments while you record. It takes a couple passes to get a whole verse, but it's much more fun than "sound forging" the whole song into pieces.

It would be cool to see a site with just vocals.

I wasn't able to rip Uwasa or any of the other H!P singles I have, but i was able to rip a fairly good version of ayumi hamasaki - ourselves.

I'm not sure I want to remix it though, hehe.

Anyway, thanks for the help siik.

Oh and I used cooledit, so yeah that works. The good thing about cooledit is you can view the two files at the same time in a multitrack-like enviroment, and can move them about. And it also has a brilliant noise removal function which makes a profile of the selection (the noise) and then you're able to remove all the noise from the song (in this case, the "relics" of sound that you get when using inversion). ^_^

first i did the audioforge sound phase invert shit, from which the vocals came out very very very clearly (this was mere luck). I then used Goldwave and used the "noise reduction" tool and chose the preset "remove hiss".
There was not a whole lot to be done with Misia, but you should have seen how noisy that MAX rip was before i got at it. I just used "noise reduction" (several times) and set the volume down a bit. It's still not perfect, but it's workable.

*note* i'm proably gonna have time to upload more this weekend, including Speed, Heartsdales and hopefull Onitsuka Chihiro if it behaves. I'm also going to try my efforts with the Gumi songs, even if i have to split it up into chunks and go at it.

As an update, most of the most active mix sites have new works put out:

Evil Morning has a new Daite yo mix, really hard
Rock in Musume has a 100 kai no kiss rock/punk mix
Puchimo remix as usual, a load of new works, including a techno mix of romantic ukare-mode
Kawaemon has a morning coffee rock mix and a Te wo nigitte in EDM, both are very nice
M.O.T.A. has a bunch of new disco/house/techno stuff
connie's under soragumi there is a mix for the sakura gumi song in Bossa, funky and great
meadow 2 new romantic ukare-mode mixes

Here is a bunch of new sites that popped up:

that girl in broken spell a super hard uwaki na honey pie mix with Andrew W.K's Party Hard as BG, and a scramble punk mix in progress both are extremely well done, I really look forward to their other works in the future
Ai no uta just a EDM mix of Boyfriend
sayumix a rock version of the sakura gumi song, very good indeed

Here are ones that I can't figure out what's wrong:

INNER BEATS click the links on the page will bring you a .txt, which has a lycos.co.uk link that doesn't seem to work for me, maybe down for the moment or something
Hello! the REMIX 2003 ---- this one I can't figure out how to download the tracks, anyone has luck with it?

Thanks, i'd seen most of those but not all of them.
The Morning Coffee Crazy Train mix on kawaemon is badass.

I've never been able to figure those last two sites either.
Usually I just check the Morning Coffee remix board and download links from there.

Wow, I'm loving the Sakura remixes. (and the other ones, too)

I feel kinda bad going in and downloading, and not even leaving them a thank you. They probably won't appreciate a foreigner going in and leaving a message in English, though.

http://www.charmy-rika.gotdns.com/uploder/.../charmy2465.mpg ***rename to .mp3
That is a NES style run of Go Girl, just like the Ne~e one its totally awesome

And then this Crazy about you mix, sort of pointless I find
http://up.isp.2ch.net/up/b2267a12d257.zip

Also check out this Daite yo a capella too, not too clean but otherwise useful
http://nono-reina-earlgrey.web.infoseek.co...topnono0542.mp3

By the way, I wonder how many of you managed to get hold of the mixes of K.N.G. and gdi_3? They just post their works away on that thread and don't have a site, I have a couple tracks from each of them but I know I don't have all. If anyone has then we may as well take them out and fill each other's gaps; same apply to other random mixes.

I just started working on making an HTML, solely for updating the remixes info, and will finish it over the weekend.

Also I may BT my entire mix folder later on, when I finalise and rearrange my ID3 tags. Last time I seeded it out it was a bit messy cuz of the unicode issue, now there's a sort of workaround. The HTML/site will probably forever feature a updated folder on a tracker, so everytime you check the torrent you will only download the new tracks. I am not sure how well this is gonna work though. Anyway, not like people who follows this thread would need to BT it, since most mixes that I have, you guys also already have; this is just for a note of interest.

How exactly does one rip vocal tracks anyway?

There aren't many good choices but this is the one I know and prefer (if anyone knows a better one, please tell me!!).

Basically, you take an orginal version of a song and the instrumental version (a really good quality mp3 or a wav rip from a cd is best) and open them up in a sound editor (i recommend Sound Forge from sonic foundry for this case). You line up the wavelengths so they are EXACTLY in line with each other, and then inverse on of the tracks. You then mix them together, and according to my grade 11 physics class, the instumental track should cancel itself, leaving the vocals.
HOWEVER!....
It is basically a crap shoot if it ends up good in the end(check the two up on my "site"). In most cases, it will end up much "dirtier" than either of those songs on my site (which aren't even that great). This is caused by either the 2 source tracks not being an equal tempo, or the songs having other mixing differences. You have one more choice when this happens, which is to cut up the tracks into small sections and use the "phase invert" method i described above, which could leave you with a garbled mess in your hands or a relatively clean rip.
