site launch

In the past, I have been working with a couple sites that I dedicatedly posted wallpapers on. I have since stopped doing that quite some time ago, but every once in a while I would get mails from people asking me to bring them back. Hey, apparently people like my stuff, so here we go, part of the site is a retrospective archive of my works.

The major motivation behind the re-opening was actually Girlish-beauty; a site that semi-inspired the style I worked these wallpapers on. Recently I had a Flash assignment that I happened to link to him unintentionally (I had to have a links page for that assignment). It looked like that the owner of that site followed the referral, saw my wallpapers and decided that those are good enough to be linked on his site. Frankly I am quite pleased to be acknowledged somehow :) (hey I know it is corny...)

The "1" section is where all the old works are. Admittedly some of them are pretty bad, and I did a fair bit of URL spamming within the wallpapers too, which I no longer do because people told me it is annoying. I got a timeline that lists pretty much all my past works too if anyone in the slightest chance is interested.

so many counts?

Oh yeah, I was never wanting to explain but you may have wondered. That counter on the left, is cumulative from the oldest site I started in 2002. Subtract 270,000 hits from it to get the "real" count of this new astrobox site, if you really care to know. Yes, this is a pure penis length measurement thing that I just feel like putting up :)

why "astrobox"?

I picked that name when I was opening the audio part of this site, which features fan remixes done by oversea fans.

How everything is so vivid outside of our earth, how much more is out there shinning that we don't always realize; so "astro" is like a metaphor for us, despite being oversea fans outside of Japan, also share the same degree of desire to contribute to the community, like winking stars racing to shine.

And then the site's job is to pack all these into a package... like a "box", what goes on here, is all there is.

So then with the launch of this wallpaper part of the site, I felt that the aim and nature of me making wallpapers is pretty much the same as making remixes, so I retained the "astrobox" brandname. Or, perhaps, I am just too damn uncreative at making up yet another fucking name.
