The Literal Desktop
Probably my favourite set from Ai-chan's 19 photobook was this - her in glowy yellow one-piece under the midnight-blue skies of Yokohama. Very nice color scheme indeed. But more interestingly, inside the photobook these pics had those marker-drawn borders in place, sort of like these pictures were sticked on a board. That visual look inspired me the theme for this wp.
I wanted a collage that is like everyone's kitchen / bedroom pin up boards, with post-it stickies and some random crap over. Kind of like a little chaos with touches of deliberateness. So I misplaced the photos as if they were randomly scattered, gave them a couple tapes overlay pretending those would set them in place.
Text would go well with this, but I wanted a treatment that wouldn't look totally fake. There went the stickies note with the site whoring, and then that little tag at the bottom for dramatic effects. With just a bit layer-masking, those typed letters on the label look as real as a rapper's lyrics. Wait... Okay that one isn't all that real but you get the drift.
As a final touch, I threw upon couple spots of spilled ink, just so to further the perfect pretense that this is a (literal) desktop of some kind.
