As a final variant of the "butterfly" one, and to stem off the whole "sakura saku" pun, I did a super colorful + dreamy version that is a bit more than just a new hue.
I used a 3D illustration (which is regretably sourceless) that has the whole "blossom" look and feel, to add upon the already pretty busy wallpaper. Amazingly the composition of the pic sits right on top the perspective of the BG and fits perfectly.
I just wanted the fantasy color scheme so I tuned down the details a whole lot to let the colors show through, with a pretty tricky technique (dodge on invert on exclusion with a grad in between).
The end result is so bloodily crazily colorful, I don't even remember me doing anything like this before, at all.
