one step forward
The shot has quite an "impactful" composition to start with, so I experimented this with a rather drastic theme - a geometric deconstructive look.
First off, the page is vertical, and the vanishing point of the perspective is way off the page on the right, which meant I had to play a lot of jazz on the right half to make a cool composition. So I manipulated the same photo a couple times, with each having slightly varying position, sort of like a real-life panoramic composite photo.
Second step was to throw in a CRAP load of texture. I am by no means a texture whore, but for this one I pushed at least 10 or so high res textural photos in there. End result looked damn sexy.
Thirdly, overhead solid white splashes and the "finishing line" elements are there just to spice up a theme... corny or not.
The big type "eri kamei" needed a relatively high contrast treatment, while not intending to be too emphasized, it was inverted for whatever reason it was. Various other typefaces and layouts are also just to comply to the perspective going on at the back. The inclined line of text seems to be out of place because of the way Photoshop handles vector type at an angle. I am too lazy to fix that, nor do I think it will get noticed :/
