Love, is slick like glass
As a natural evolution from a bunch of past walls I did, this one is an attempt to mix all those techniques and effects into one combined canvas.
I have always longed to do a pure glittering / sparkling based wallpaper, since the style has been the latest state-of-the-art for quite a while. However, that would require a fairly dark background on a photographic based picture, which is rare; but here is the chance - this photo is screaming for a midnight blue clashing neon glow scheme, something I would make out of a CD name with "glass" in it.
I dislike the idea of using a plain black BG so I put some effort into layering a fairly subtle basic texture at the very back. Again, since this time I am to incorporate all my past techniques into this, so I added small bits from a variety of blending effects, such as metallic overlay, fireworks color dodge, imminent tiling patterns, cloudy multiply, etc.
Second up are the vector florals. Majorly referring to the ecomoni walls I did, I applied a series of plant based vector shapes at the back of the_gocchin, each with varying degree of brightness and saturation, overlaying on top of each other.
Next is the main focus - the glittering elements. There is a style from nopattern that uses an extensive number of 45-degree-angled gradation bars, which look somewhat like ion-propelled exhausts of a space craft's, at the sides of the body to create a drastically shinny look. Coupled with the blinking sparkle dots, it gives the thing a whole fantasy mood with a bit of cyber element to it.
The neon lights sort of brush stroke for the "LOVE" type was actually a stock photo. Inspired by it, I threw 2 islands of horizontally-motion-blurred white bars to further illustrate the glittering theme.
The finish touches of sleek looking text and the 510 badge are all standard treatments. Compared to the older walls I did, where I usually leave them with more crudeness in the finishing, this time I instead did a bit more polish to the final product since I really wanted this to look like a professional design. I think I am going to use this same design on other black BG photos too if there is any recent one that's good.
A desaturated grey variant is also offered (I myself actually like it better, as a work comp desktop)
