A Fairy Tale
Out of this 2 page spread I only used the top half of the whole vertical photo, just so to fit it better with the 4:3 dimension. Interestingly, that by itself is already a quarter-cut layout (sayu is cut perfectly at the bottom left).
The pic was pretty much entirely green, so in the process I put a fair bit of color adjustments, juicing up the blue and the orange in the back to spice it up a little.
In accordance to the quarter slice, the typography treatment and varies textural objects are also limited within that bottom left grid. I tried to be a bit over the top with the body type there, but obviously I am not the most creative in writing up text...
